  1. How far does the hood have to be above the cooking surface?

  3. How often should I clean my filters?

The aluminium mesh grease filters should be washed in your dishwasher approximately every month depending on the amount of usage.  The more grease you use, the more you need to clean the filter.

  4. How often should the non-ducted range hood filters be replaced?

It depends on the frequency and type of cooking that is performed. Normally, every three (3) to six (6) months is recommended for replacing the charcoal filters. Our filters are made from the highest quality materials to provide the longest life possible and keep your hood operating at peak performance.

  5. What do the CFM and Sone ratings mean?

CFM stands for Cubic Feet per Minute of exhausting air flow. The higher the number, the greater the amount of air that is exhausted using the Range Hood. A Sone is an internationally recognized unit of loudness. Sones are a linear measure like inches. Doubling the sone value is equivalent to doubling the loudness.  All of our Range Hoods CFM and Sone ratings are certified so you can rely on them. Most of
the new range hoods today that use new technology have an average sone rating of 4-6, the lower the sones the less sound there is. Our hoods have a sone rating of 4, which is excellent. They are very powerful and efficient yet quiet, which is what everyone looks for in a quality range hood.

  6. What does vent-DUCT/ductless mean?

Vent/ductless means that if you do not have an opening to the exterior, then you can use the range hood in the ventless/ductless option, which means that the smoke would be absorbed and recirculated using the charcoal filters. If you have an opening in the wall or ceiling then you can vent the range hood to the exterior using a duct. In order to use the range hood ventless, you would also need to purchase charcoal filters from our website.

  7. Does telescoptic chimney mean I can acutally adjust it as needed while cooking?

Telescopic chimney means that you can adjust it during installation to the exact height that you desire. You cannot adjust it to a different height while cooking.
